With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

I (Jess) was in Shawnigan lake BC. I flew out a week early to do some writing with a friend. Sweet alibi was supposed to be starting a tour March 17 in BC. The place I was staying had poor Wi-Fi, so when I came to check my phone on March 12 I discovered what was going on. I made contact with the rest of the band to make a decision of whether to continue with the tour or postpone, and within a few days it was very apparent to postpone the tour until we knew more what was going on.

How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

We had a big tour planned for the summer and festivals as well as plans to tour Europe in the fall and release our fourth album. These things have all been put on hold now. We are still in the midst of releasing singles from our fourth album "Make a Scene". So far we have released Confetti and Really Great and we will be releasing a third single soon!

Most of the dates we had booked we have managed to move to later dates and hopefully those will happen!

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?

I (Michelle) enrolled in the University of Manitoba to take a couple classes. I have also been teaching online guitar and banjo lessons.

Jessica has been gardening and spending time outside and Working on songs.

Amber has been spending some time practicing french and writing music.

We all have enjoyed being outside and having free time to go camping and enjoy our Manitoba beaches!

What was the first thing you did/place you went to now the country is starting to slowly re-open?

Well, here in Winnipeg currently we are in code red lockdown. But when we were open earlier in the year I know that we all enjoyed visiting our local joints. The Beer Can was a sweet new venue during the summer months that we were so lucky to perform at and safely visit with friends.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

We hope everyone stays safe and stay connected to your loved ones!
