With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

I was in New Zealand with a friend and got stuck out there for a while. All the flights turned to dust. I was as far away from home as I could possibly be, marooned. Fortunately the one good thing was that New Zealand is a beautiful place to be stuck in and they did so well in terms of dealing with the pandemic. If you had asked me before the pandemic, what country would I not mind being isolated in? I would have said there!

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

In terms of the big changes Covid made, I have had to adapt my playing live gigs to streaming on Instagram. Which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was great, I had never really done that before and it allowed me to connect on a person level with each of my fans. I suggest to any artist to create a more meaning full level of connection with the fan base they have built. It really kept me going in the cold winter months whilst Covid was upon us.

For releasing music, Covid was actually the catalyst for my first single "Behind Closed Doors". My producer and I thought it was a fitting time to put out a song that was about felling isolated from the rest of the world and shut out from your romantic partner. We felt it was a pretty on the nose song for the the times we all where going through. People could understand what I was feeling when I wrote it as we were all "Behind Closed Doors". That old thing of being alone together was on my mind a lot over the last year or so.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

Well as I said releasing music and creating content has keep me pretty busy until now. It gave me something to focus on while there was nothing to do but stay at home. I also spent lots of my days making any new interesting recipe. So, holla at ya boy if you want a banging Katsu Curry. I live with my brother which was also a saving grace as we spend a lot of time hanging out the way bro's do. I'm talking games, movies and anime. We completed lots of different type of games but my favourite was going back to play Metal Gear Solid 2. The best Movie we watched was Scream, my brother and I had never seen it so we had to give it a try. Last but not least was our top anime of the lockdown season Jujitsu Kaisen. I would defo recommend giving any of these a look!

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

Yeah, the gigs are slowly but surely coming back in now. I cant wait to play my first booked gig which i will be head lining on the 21st of September. its at the music room in Camden. Give me a follow on my socials if you are interested, that's also where I make noise and yell about any new gigs that are on the horizon. I will be putting up a link for tickets soon.

Stay tuned, more live gigs are on the way ;)

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

The most important thing in lockdown and life in general is having a support network. so if you feel lost, reach out. No one can get through all this alone, thats what people are for. In my short time on this blue green orb we call home, one thing I have found is that if you ask for help people are willing to give it. if you don't ask, you don't get. peace and love.

Ya boy
