With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We released our debut full length album "Dreams Come True" on 3/15, so it was unfortunate that our release festival, an all ages event called Love Is Gay got cancelled the night before as well as any plans for touring the new record! It rained that day, but most of our fans were at home listening to the album as soon as it came out and sent us the sweetest messages so we are just grateful to have had the opportunity to release the record and have so much support!
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
Our release show and touring plans got completely wiped out, but we've been happily doing livestreams and fundraisers with our community and helping out in supporting one another in any way we can!!
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
I've been reading and relearning as much as I can, baking cannabis treats for friends, visiting my rabbit, attended Black Lives Matter weekly rallies in 2020, started a microgrant fund for queer bipoc artists with my girlfriend, fell in love, wrote and recorded new music, ate lots of delicious snacks!
How are dealing with the Covid second wave?
We are just taking each day as it comes, and trying to remind folks to stay safe and support local businesses and community mutual aid when possible so we can all get through this together!
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
When we come visit and play at this awesome, legendary space post-Covid on tour!!
