With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
I was working as a producer for Airbnb and it was taking up a lot of my time and energy, meaning that I barely had the time to get creative and make music anymore. I lost my job as soon as covid hit and quickly got back to making music on a daily basis.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
To be perfectly honest, If I hadn't lost my job, I don't think that my project A Stranger Everywhere would have ever existed. Losing my job forced me to focus on what I actually liked; it was a blessing in disguise hahaha.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
These have been difficult times. I've had many ups and downs throughout the past year. When you're not doing much, its really easy to start overthinking the small amount of things you are actually doing. I've started doing a bit of yoga and breathing exercises that have been helpful. Its crucial to disconnect and take a bit of time for yourself every day.
How are dealing with the Covid second wave?
The second wave is not as bad as this is already a new reality that we'e sadly grown accustomed to. Obviously I'm still looking forward to things getting back to normal but I've been working, making music, staying connected with friends and family. As long as you slightly adapt your way of life and stop thinking "i'll start living again once this ends"; you'll be fine.
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
I really like all the HomeTown Hustle éditions! I found the concept very cool! By the way, Eric Alper sent me this form for me to fill out and told me to let you know that it came from him!
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
Just follow your instinct and intuition and don't get discouraged by what other people can say.
