With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We were in Nashville. We flew down early March, right before all the chaos and lockdowns began. We were quite fortunate to get all prepped with groceries and have our studio all set up. We were a little hesitant to stay down there, but we figured we would just wait it out down there since all our summer festivals started to get postponed and there were no commitments we needed to get back to.
How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
The pandemic just put a hold on all our plans this year… and probably next year as well. Which in turn has made us rethink new releases.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?
Like a lot of people, we took the quarantine to bing watch our favourite TV shows and movies. We dove deep into sour dough and fermentation. Dabbled in making beer and cider too. After that extended further into our lives we just focused creatively on our music and let the feel of that music reflect our current situation. Along with all the acoustic live stream shows we did, we got to lean heavy on the foundations of our songs when we first wrote them. It was fun to revisit the bare bones again and strip it back.
What was the first thing you did/place you went to now the country is starting to slowly re-open?
We came back to Canada!
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
Seeing Shad play there. And then when we got to play there!
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
It's going to be okay…?
