With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We were preparing for a mini tour with KOSM and Syryn and just beginning production for what was to be a surprise EP to be released this year. Not much point in keeping it quiet now. Pretty much everyone is working on new material now, right?
How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
Well, the mini tour was canceled. Some summer festivals we booked were canceled and our studio process was completely halted.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?
Jess has been learning new vocal techniques and other new things and reading a lot. I (Kent) am a city paramedic. Work has been extra exhausting so I've not done much besides decompress with my time off. Cody has worked a lot on covers and is still doing guitar set ups. Wes has been busy still with his job and has been working on his EP parts as well. Jesse has been doing a lot of drumming. He's posted lots of drum videos to his social medias. He's also recently been added to the artist roster of Los Cabos drumsticks. He's been after that one for a while so we are super proud of him for landing that.
Favourite quarantine meal?
Jess and I have eaten a lot more pancakes than normal... does that count?
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
When we opened for Jinjer back in October. It was the biggest show this band has had and personally was one of the best experiences of my life.
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
This has been a dark time and very tough for us all, the world over. We hope our fans, friends, and family have all been doing ok and staying safe. We've been quiet on social media during this but we promise we are still kicking. We will be resuming work on our new EP very soon so keep your eyes open for news on that. We'd also like to express our support for the Black Lives Matter movement. There is finally starting to be spots of positive change due to that movement. We hope to see more positive changes for our world to come. Friends, Family, and Fans we can't wait to see you out there when shows resume! Take care and stay safe, we love you!
