With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

Unfortunately, current pandemic affected our plans quite a bit. We’re working on a new release and wanted to test the new songs live before going to the studio. We had quite a few shows booked from March to July, including a small BC tour and 6 local dates.

I am a big believer that a band should play songs live before recording it. We have a studio time booked later in the year, but we might have to go into this recording session not as ready as we would’ve liked to.

How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

I touched a bit on that in the previous answer. There was a small BC run with a band called Pears from US scheduled. It was a great opportunity to play a few good shows for a new audience to us.

We also had a few headlining shows and a couple of shows opening for touring bands cancelled.

We’re now trying to figure out how to go about the studio time we booked. I don’t think we as a band will be 100% ready.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?

I still work from home for my employment. But I would not say that the new-found free time has been used very effectively. I usually plan and book shows for the band in that time I have free from employment. But now it’s impossible to plan anything in the future, so I can’t book us a show or a tour. We’ve done a few lives through social media here and there, but it does not replace the live show and the energy.

We could’ve worked on music, but it’s not really in the social distancing guidelines. So, we’re doing our part, staying at home, not gathering and waiting like the rest of the world.

Favourite quarantine meal?

That’s a good question. I got really good at home made quesadillas/wraps/burritos. I use a tortilla and experiment with different fillings. If I go with a tex-mex mix, then I cook it like a quesadilla. If its chicken or beef based, then I cook it as a shawarma wrap. And if the mix is bean/chilli based then it ends up being a burrito. So, the mix inside a tortilla dictates what kind of dish it ends up being. That clearly has been one of my strongest achievements over that pandemic which will cause plenty of sweaty hours to get rid of extra weight after all this is over.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

My message won’t be uniquely original: stay home, do your part and be positive because once this over its gonna be great again. We would be able to play music, hug each other go to shows and sing along together. I feel like Vancouver punk community will be back stronger. It will make us appreciate what we have going in the scene even more and not take it for granted. Hope everyone is safe!
