With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
I was on a cruise ship when it all started getting crazy in other parts of the world. It's crazy because I was considering doing a music gig for Royal Caribbean.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
I no longer had interest in ever doing aa gig as a cruise musician ever again. I also had to switch one of my weekly gigs to virtual rehearsals and performances, which is a lot of adjustment but much better than nothing.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
I've been trying to stay connected with the music world digitally. I'm pretty numb to the state of things right now and just trying to get back on a day to day basis.
How are dealing with the Covid fifth wave? Have things locked down again in your region? Have you had to cancel gigs, tours, etc.? Are things reopening & restrictions are lifting in your region? Have you booked any new gigs, tours, etc.? What are your plans for 2022?
It's a weird point where some gigs are in person and some are virtual, and a lot are cancelled or switched back and forth. I'm just staying flexible and doing the best that I can from home and in person while being safe.
