With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
In my house. I made a promise to myself to learn and grow as an artist as much as I could when the pandemic first hit. Looking back, I honoured my promise.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
The pandemic let me focus more on a body of work that I thought was finished at the time. Now I have an even more solid body of work. In terms of tours, my friends and I found pockets last year to host shows whenever we could.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
The music honestly keeps me sane. I don’t see or talk people as frequently as I’d like and writing and recording on some of these songs and playing it back is very therapeutic.
How are dealing with the Covid fifth wave? Have things locked down again in your region? Have you had to cancel gigs, tours, etc.? Are things reopening & restrictions are lifting in your region? Have you booked any new gigs, tours, etc.? What are your plans for 2022?
We had a lockdown recently here in Ottawa but things are opening back up so we’re ready to get back outside and do the needful. Talks on shows and even a tour are happening right now. I just want to focus on my single “Who’s Gassing Who?” for a bit while my next project is baking. I am thankful to my team and Eric Alper for their work on my track.

Keep being yourself. Don’t forget that you’re the only one who can do you.
