With a boozy caffeinated bevy that's sure to win out over all the gravy and stuffings...
The Chai-Rish Coffee!
Born out of a joke around the bar The Interval, the crossover of an Irish coffee and holiday chai spice, the drink soon became a hit at The Paper Plane in California. A true banger of a cocktail.
INGREDIENTS
2oz Irish Whiskey (We used Jameson's Caskmates Stout Edition)
2oz Cold Brew Coffee* (Homemade, but store bought is just as good)
1/2oz Chai Syrup**
Garnish with Chai Whipped Cream***
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a double rocks glass over ice.
Stir to integrate.
Garnish with Chai Whipped Cream
*COLD BREW DIRECTIONS
Coarse grind 1 cup coffee beans. Pour 28oz of cold water over coffee grounds into a mason jar (or real conveniently, a French Press) and put in the fridge for 24 hours. Strain out the grounds (or real conveniently, push down the French Press) and boom. Cold Brew.
**CHAI SYRUP DIRECTIONS
Brew 4 tea bags of chai in 8oz of boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and add 8oz of sugar. Dissolve and chill.
***CHAI WHIPPING CREAM DIRECTIONS
1/4oz Chai Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
2oz Heavy Cream
Combine all ingredients in a protein shaker, and shake until you reach a rich, creamy consistency. A little bit of effort for maximum caffeine and booze libation.
