With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

I had just returned to PEC from a quick trip to San Diego when the lockdown fell. For me, it’s been OK to create music in a whole new way. Staying indoors is not really an issue.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

The first significant change is that people like to create their own music playlists — listening to a song from here and elsewhere. So to meet these trends/desires, I’m releasing Singles, one Track at a time, from my ROGOV Tourist EP.

Since tours are problem-some during these times, I have had to learn to communicate online. The fact is that it’s still all about the music; in my case, it’s still all about the song. Today, there are more ways to share music than ever, and I have a head full to record and share. Touring is a whole other game.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

Well, there’s creating the collateral materials for the Tourist Album. I’ve also been working with Canadian Photographic Artist Deborah Samuel on publishing her fabulous new book, Elementals. We’ve also collaborated on a couple of Videos for another great Canadian Artist, Alannah Myles. As for my mental health, from my view, it’s pretty much what it has always been, discounting age...:-)

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

No gigs, just music videos for a while that I hope fans can watch anytime they please.

Favourite Starlite Room Moment?

I really liked the band Save Sax; it takes a solid sense of humous to run with that name...

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

We are going through difficult times and songs are vehicles for conveying a message and emotion. We may not remember the singer, but we rarely forget the song. Thank you everybody at Starlite!
