With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
I was in Edmonton, Alberta, prepping for a showcase. I had a headlining showcase 1 day after they locked everything down. HAHAH damn that was disappointing for sureeeeee.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
It's affected my plans in both good and bad ways. I was setting up a tour across western Canada at the time that had to get postponed. It did give me the time to get my second album "OLYMPUS" finally finished up. The first single "Ur Luv" came out in September 2021, and the second single is dropping November 12th. I have been working on music videos, online content, and building relationships over this time to help push my goal of 1,000 VINYL pre-orders of OLYMPUS (on sale now).
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
I have been doing a lot at home to work on my art, my body, my mind, and my spirituality. My everyday consists of meditating anywhere from 20 minutes to 2-3 hours. Working out anywhere from 1-3 hours, eating super clean. Practicing vocals, recording and producing music everyday, and learning, reading lots of great books, listening to lots of smart people speak. Trying take this time to grow and improve as much as possible.
As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?
I have been slowly booking more little gigs, I hopefully will have even more opportunities present themselves as I continue to roll my album out more over the next few months.
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
One of my favorite times in the Starlite room was when me and a girl I used to date went and saw her vocal coach Carol-Lynne Quin (who is now my vocal coach too haha) perform ,and we just had a great, music was awesome, my date was gorgeous, the vibe of the venue was on point, the drinks were cold and strong. It was a great night, so much fun.
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
We are capable of great things, dream big, dream even bigger, then work your ass off to go achieve it.
