With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

2020 was off to a great start with a great with a show in Toronto at The Rock Pile in January. We also played a sold out banger at Moose McGuires for Ottawa rock radio station Rebel 101.7's Real Rock Search. That night the band would gain entrance through victory into the finals of the competition and the bar...was completely sold-out of beer. The finals were supposed to happen in April, the event was postponed TBD. On March 12th the band played its final pre-covid times show at House of Targ on Bank Street in Ottawa with Alberta rockers King Bull.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

The band had plans on releasing two additional singles throughout 2020 and had a line-up of festivals in the process of being booked (namely the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, Voodoo Rockfest, White Water Rocks). We bounced back and were able to release 'Loving Way' in the summer of 2020 and we managed to play a few socially-distanced show throughout the year. The highlight was definitely Voodoo Rockfest in Napanee, Ontario where we got to play an outdoor socially-distanced festival in front of 100 die hard rock fans.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

We've been mostly working on new music and promoting our existing catalogue as best we can with newer content. Most of us can work from home with our day-to-day jobs which allows us to work on the promo material and connect with our fans via social media in our free time. Staying connected with the band/family/friends, trying to eat healthy, and exercising has been the key to keeping up with our mental health!

How are dealing with the Covid second wave?

We're always looking for ways to stay active and to keep the action at a high level. The main focus right now is on writing new material to get back in the studio as soon as we can. We recently did a livestream show with the Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival and Beavertails. This performance was pre-tapped in our studio space and aired during the Winterlude events in the city. We also have a livestream performance with the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition and Rogers TV that was pre-recorded in December 2020 that will air shortly in the next weeks. Being in a band during Covid times is all about finding ways to keep the momentum going as much as possible. We're working daily to achieve that goal and setting the stage (haha bad pun) for the return of live music!!

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Hey folks! We are rock band Taming Sari of the beautiful National Capital Region of Ottawa. On February 14th 2021, the band let loose cupids' arrow on the hearts of one and all when they released their debut ballad, 'Gone and Run Away'. Please go have a listen and follow-us on all social media platforms as we are tirelessly working to get some solid content to you!!

We hope to see you at a live show soon enough when it's safe to do so again, cheers!!
