With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We had just left for our first big tour of the year, about to board a ferry to Vancouver Island. We started receiving phone calls about gigs getting cancelled while waiting in the line up to board the ferry, and had to make the decision right then and there to cancel the whole tour. That was March 13th.
How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
Yes, and yes. It's hard to even write about this without sounding like a complainer because I know so many bands are in a similar situation. It's been rough. We had a lot of plans (at least 4 longer tours, several release shows, festival dates, the list goes on) and put out a new record on April 20th.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?
Writing and recording a lot of new music, for myself and producing other artists.
What was the first thing you did/place you went to now the country is starting to slowly re-open?
Is it? I haven't noticed any restrictions being relaxed, it seems like the opposite is happening. We had house show plans but now that isn't even an option in BC, with the new 6 person max per household.
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
A puppet is free as long as he loves his strings
