With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We played a live show on March 14, 2020 at the Brick and Whiskey in Edmonton. The next day the Alberta Government put a ban on gatherings and the venue shut down for what it hoped was temporarily, the venue has since announced it will not be reopening making us the last band to get to perform there.
How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
We had planned on performing at a couple of music festivals this summer as well as producing our own festival called Jamtron that we have put on for the past five years in Alberta. The uncertainty of how long restrictions will be in place for live performances has been quite stressful on us, as long-time performers we do not feel whole when we are not creating live music.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?
Working from home during the pandemic and raising 3 kids with another one on the way. - Mark. Gardening and going on hikes - Paul. Playing video games with an online community and yard work - Sean.
What was the first thing you did/place you went to now the country is starting to slowly re-open?
Camping
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
Performing our live stream concert on 4/20/20 will be long cherished by us. So many memories in that room, attending amazing shows at The Rev in our late teens/early twenties inspired us to keep on improving our live show.
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
Please support your local venues wherever you may be. The artists in every community rely on these places to showcase their art and creativity. Attend a show once in a while with an artist you have never heard of before, your presence in the crowd could be the inspiration for them to create their next masterpiece.
