With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

As February/March are generally a quieter time of year where we tend to stick around home and write, thankfully we were all home in PEI when the pandemic hit.

How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

Our year was affected drastically 🙁
We had just completed our second studio album “Ocean” and had an entire year of shows booked in Canada to launch & tour our new release. We had to cancel EVERYTHING.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?

During the pandemic we have all been focusing on our families, spending quality time with the ones we love, helping take care of neighbours & friends in whatever way we could. The three members of our band also have day jobs so we have been busy with those. Fortunately, we are able to work from our homes. Dale McKie is a graphic designer and has been able to transition pretty seamlessly. Todd MacLean is a music teacher and with a bit of ingenuity he was able to continue teaching via online classes with his students. My family runs a construction/heating company and are considered an essential service. Although we had to adjust our work routines we have been able to remain working full time.

As a band, we have recently been able to start writing again and hope to hit our Songhouse studio soon!

What was the first thing you did/place you went to now the country is starting to slowly re-open?

We are so proud of our government’s strict stance regarding Covid in PEI. As a result we have minimal Covid cases and no hospitalizations or deaths. As a result, some of our music venues have started to reopen with restrictions. We were honoured to perform 3 sold-out live shows to officially launch "OCEAN" and celebrate the grand re-opening of an amazing venue called the Trailside Music Hall in our hometown in early September. They were some of the most powerful & emotional shows we have done in a long time. It was a very healing experience for us all!!

Favourite Starlite Room Moment?

We haven't had the pleasure... yet ;-)

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Covid has been a very reflective time for me, I’ve certainly taken stock of what is most important in my life. Family, friends, my animals, the arts.

My message to everyone at home reading this is to find a silver lining in these times. Enjoy this slower pace, reset your mind, exhale, go for walks and be thankful everyday, for even the smallest things.
