With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

I was at a Volleyball tournament in Baltimore, Maryland when everything started shutting down. I was a Junior in high school and two days later they shut the schools down.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

In a way, the pandemic made me an artist. I’ve always been immersed in a studio atmosphere since my dad is a musician so I had easy access to recording and producing my own songs. I’ve always had a very hard time embracing my musical abilities and often kept that part of me to myself, but the pandemic happened in the middle of a key year for high school and I had so much time kn my hands, so we started making song after song. The pandemic was really difficult, but it brought me new opportunities that I am so thankful for and also helped me realize what I really wanted to do, both as a person and as an artist.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

I am always writing. I’m constantly putting my ideas on paper or in my phone to help clear space in my head for more ideas. I’ve written so many songs over the pandemic and it’s been so incredible to experiment with new production ideas and concepts that can further build me as a musician. I’ve had anxiety for a very long time and sometimes it’s hard to communicate my inner feelings and thoughts, so journaling and writing songs has helped to calm me down and relive the stress.

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

I’m just starting out in my career so the future touring and performance plans are still being worked out, but I have planned many writing trips this year to go and meet new people and hopefully create some really great songs. I am opening for a super sick band called My Kid Brother on July 23rd in Leesburg, Virginia at the Tally Ho and I’m playing a music festival called Rock By The Sea on top of a hotel in Delray Beach, Florida on August 12th through the 15th.

Favourite Starlite Room Moment?

Definitely being chosen as artist of the day. I am so grateful and so happy that I can be apart of this.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

I’ve got a new single out called “Happy Birthday (Go Fuck Yourself)” and I would love it if you gave it a listen. I wrote it on lockdown and hope that even if you couldn’t party during quarantine, this song can take you to one. Stay tuned for new music coming soon. Don’t be afraid or ashamed of what you love to do. Accept and embrace yourself for who you are because you will be so much happier if you do.
