With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

I was just working a job and when the news came, I thought it was just like Swine flu, and maybe we'd have a few weeks inside and that's all. I never knew it would drag out to two years...

The COVID-19 pandemic essentially kicked my ass into the studio. Me and my producer, Adam, were pumping out tracks every week, and quicker than I ever had before. I would always go to random producers and nothing ever worked, but when Adam and I met at House of Wonders, I truly understood that music is my future and passion. I created and wrote more than I ever had. It was bliss.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

The pandemic really told me - 'You have all this time, and energy just waiting inside you. Go chase your dream.' So, I created my album, and I have plans for a tour in 2022. I don't know how I'll make it happen, but I want to tour so bad!

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

Listening to music, enjoying video games, writing lyrics and melodies...hanging with friends, spending time with my mom and family (who have helped me more than anyone this year and I thank them so much for it). I have been taking granted the small things all my life, and I think the pandemic really told me to wake up.

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

I have only booked studio dates so far. I truly want to make sure my discography matches whatever I do live, and that takes time and effort. Not only that, but I don't want to do shows where I just replace the sound of my music with live instruments - I want it to be a magical, theatrical experience that is tight and measured. It needs to be the perfect medium.

Favourite Starlite Room Moment?

You guys truly care about Canadian talent, and that is something that is often overlooked - thank you for showcasing such a broad scope of talent and helping artists truly bloom.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

The only thing that you can redefine as success is hope. If you have hope, anything is possible. Keep working, pursuing, and navigating your life. One day might be up, and the other low, but life is life the waves, and they can easily be navigated if you have the right boat. Furthermore, thank you for listening to my music and I hope you love it!
